The 4th Annual Plymouth Business Games event a success

Friday 9th October saw the 4th Annual Plymouth Business Games Volleyball Tournament take place - the 2015 edition of the competition saw 10 teams from businesses across the city compete for the Title - with an adapted format to 4 a side with a wildcard ruling, the competition was both competitive and fun for all involved and the round robin stages had some absorbing rallies and close fought matches highlighting the competitive nature from the teams as well as a lot of sportsmanship and camaraderie. Lang & Potter fielded 2 teams as well as Ivybridge Community College. Devonport Dockyard Employee Trust, C3 Resources, Plymouth Community Homes returned from last year and the competition had newcomers in Plymouth Studio School, Francis Clark and Jolly Moam (Mums on a Mission).
Lang & Potter 1 defended their title with Lang & Potter 2 claiming Silver. In the Bronze Medal Match, Francis Clark won in a close fought encounter against Ivybridge Community College 1.
Despite the fire alarm going off at the start of the games and delaying the schedule, it all ran smoothly. There were a lot of interested players interested in taking up the sport more often and some of the teams were really keen to join the Local League Series which starts next month too! A huge thank you to the helpers who set up and de rigged after the event and a special mention to Devonport Royal Dockyard Employee Trust who, despite being knocked out in the round robin stage, wanted to stay until the end and offered to help officiate the Semi Finals and Finals.
