PMVC's Go Spike Big Weekend a big Success!
Posted by Nobody on 1 June 2015
A big thank you to everyone who came to our first ever Go Spike Big Weekend Event. It's the first time we have held a family open day and it couldn't have gone any better! Wonderful to have use of all 3 courts with the juniors all learning how to play and competing in Beat the Libero (winner was Connor), best block (Grace) and Volleymania (Ollie)!
Some heated competition was happening on centre court too and our new junior girls from Plymstock School and Marine Academy ( whe...n not getting soaked by my 3 year old menace) were enjoying themselves on the other court.
The BBQ was well used, the music was a nice touch and the donated Portlebay Popcorn was a huge hit! A massive well done to our new resident and expert face painter, Clare Potter. And to my fellow event organisers and set up crew, Victoria Wilkins, Meg Leeds, Luke Allen-gdanitz, Valeria Valeria, David Cranch, Iain Jenkins, Kyle White, occasional chef Jake Allen-Gdanitz and head judge Nick Boorman or Len Goodman to his friends.
It was wonderful having that blend of friends old and new and I'm hopeful that our Tuesday recreational sessions and our junior and women's only sportivate sessions will see some new faces in the coming weeks!
A great day for a great club.
